Cubic Capacity Load/Linear Foot Rules/Minimum Density Rules LTL Carriers (Rev 1/16/2012)

When calculating the cubic capacity of shipment – always calculate the pallet height to 84 inches if the carrier is unable to load on top of your freight


That quantity of freight which, in the manner tendered to carrier or prescribed to be loaded so fills the vehicle that no additional article in that shipping form tendered identical in size to the largest article in the shipment can be loaded in the vehicle

 

AAA Cooper:

Minimum Density/Linear Foot – Total shipment >830 cubic feet AND average density of less than 4 lbs per cubic foot or shipment that occupy 13 linear feet or more of trailer space that take up an average density of less than 4 lbs per cubic foot

Beaver Express:

More than 11’ or more across usable width of the trailer

Central Freight:

21’ of floor spaceMinimum Density/Linear Foot – Total shipment >750 cubic feet AND average density of less than 6 lbs per cubic foot

Central Transport:

14’ of floor spaceMinimum Density/Linear Foot – Total shipment >750 cubic feet AND average density of less than 6 lbs per cubic foot but not less than 4lbs per cubic feet

Custom Companies:

1) More than 11’ of floor space -OR-2) More than 7000lbs. -OR-

3) More than 7 Skids

Con-Way:

1) Equals or exceeds 14’ of the length of a trailer; Exceeds 4’/48” of the width of the trailer; Exceeds 50” of the height of a trailer. -OR-2) Equals or exceeds 115’ sq. of the floor space of the trailer; Exceeds 50” of height of the trailer.
